Jan is one of the few true natives of Asheville. Her father and grandfather were
prominent attorneys in the area; her maternal grandfather was a character in
Thomas Wolfe’s “Look Homeward Angel”. Jan attended Appalachian State and
Western Carolina University.
Jan is an expert in customer service through years of experience in hospitality
and sales and has a compassionate heart developed during her career as a
social worker. Jan now engages the community through a variety of fund raising

Jan loves spending time with her dogs, Buddy & Kali, swimming at the Y and growing blueberry bushes. Jan &
Dave enjoy working on their home, traveling (especially to the beach), coffee shops and water volleyball. Their
daughter Jennifer recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is the Development
Coordinator for the National Board of Certified Counselors located in Greensboro.
